Alabama baseball secured a three-game sweep over No. 18 Florida with a 14-7 victory at Sewell-Thomas Stadium on March 22. The Crimson Tide, now holding an 18-7 record overall and 3-3 in the Southeastern Conference, achieved its first series sweep of the Gators since 2002.

The significance of this win is marked by Alabama’s ability to overcome a four-run deficit through four innings, scoring all fourteen runs in their final four turns at bat. This performance not only broke a long-standing streak against Florida but also demonstrated resilience from both the lineup and pitching staff.

Brady Neal played a key role in the game, hitting a grand slam during Alabama’s seven-run sixth inning that gave his team a five-run lead. Neal finished with two hits, including a double and home run, driving in seven runs for his best single-game total to date. Justin Lebron contributed with a two-run homer in the fifth inning while Will Plattner sparked the sixth-inning rally with another two-run shot. Bryce Fowler added two hits and scored twice, and Brennen Holt reached base four times.

On the mound, Myles Upchurch started but struggled early before Sam Mitchell provided nearly three innings of scoreless relief. Ashton Crowther earned the win after pitching over three innings while allowing just one home run following Alabama’s surge ahead. Hagan Banks closed out the game with two perfect innings.

Head Coach Rob Vaughn said: “A great game to wrap up a great weekend. And the way we did it was just indicative of what I think this team’s done over the last 10 days… We did a great job of just taking what the game gave us… Yeah, just a special day, fun way to finish the weekend.” Vaughn also highlighted upcoming preparations for their next matchup against Austin Peay.

Postgame notes indicate several individual achievements: Neal extended his on-base streak to sixteen games; Luke Vaughn leads with twenty-one consecutive games reaching base; Fowler has hit safely in seven straight contests; and attendance was recorded at 3,753 spectators.

Looking ahead, Alabama will play Austin Peay at Toyota Field in Huntsville on Tuesday evening.
