Alabama baseball defeated No. 5 Auburn with an 11-1 victory on March 27 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, extending its in-conference winning streak to four games. The game ended after eight innings due to the mercy rule.

The win is significant for Alabama as it marks the most runs scored by an opposing team against Auburn this season and limited the Tigers to their lowest hit total in a single game in 2026. Alabama’s offensive performance included a total of 15 hits, with Bryce Fowler leading the team by going 3-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored. Luke Vaughn contributed a two-run homer early in the game and finished with three runs batted in, while John Lemm also hit a two-run home run.

Head Coach Rob Vaughn said, “A great night. That was an SEC Friday game there for about five innings. Both pitchers going toe-to-toe. (Auburn) had a leadoff the walk in the first come around to score on a big two-out hit, and then they make the error there in the second. Luke (Vaughn), he comes up and gets a breaking ball and runs it out of the yard… I thought Jason Torres’ at-bat there, that was really the backbreaker… Really proud of the way we threw the ball… Tyler (Fay) today was outstanding again… Just a relentless offensive effort, those guys, that was my message, (Auburn) won’t go away… They’re not accidentally ranked in the top five in the country… but we’ve got a big one coming at seven o’clock tomorrow night.”

Pitcher Tyler Fay earned his fifth win of seven starts this season after allowing just one earned run over five innings while striking out five batters. Relievers Matthew Heiberger and Sam Mitchell combined for three more scoreless innings to close out Auburn’s offense.

Several Alabama players extended personal streaks: Fowler has now reached base safely for 21 consecutive games; Vaughn extended his on-base streak to 23 games; Brady Neal pushed his own streak to 18 games; Justin Osterhouse reached base for his fifteenth straight contest; Brennan Holt continued his hitting streak over five games; Justin Lebron has reached base over seven consecutive outings.

Attendance for Friday’s matchup was reported as 4,682 spectators. The Crimson Tide will continue its series against Auburn on Saturday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
