Alabama baseball defeated Troy 7-3 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium on March 10, extending its winning streak to six games and marking the team’s eleventh consecutive victory over the Trojans since 2019.

The win highlights Alabama’s strong start to the season, bringing their record to 15-3. The Crimson Tide capitalized on timely hitting and effective pitching throughout the game. Jason Torres contributed a solo home run in the second inning and added a sacrifice fly and a walk. Justin Lebron went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in, two stolen bases, and was hit by a pitch. John Lemm also had multiple hits, finishing with two doubles and one RBI. Bryce Fowler and Luke Vaughn each drove in a run with sacrifice flies.

Pitcher Bobby Alcock improved his record to 2-0 after allowing just one earned run over three innings while striking out four batters. Evan Steckmesser pitched two shutout innings, retiring seven of eight batters faced. Matthew Heiberger worked around two walks for 1.2 scoreless frames, and Hagan Banks closed out the ninth inning with a strikeout. The Alabama pitching staff allowed only five hits as the defense turned two double plays.

Head Coach Rob Vaughn said, “Good win. We didn’t just go wear it out offensively, but we were really timely with our hitting which was good. We were on base for free 12 times tonight, we pride ourselves on controlling the strike zone, and we did it… Happy for the boys, we’ll have a good day of work tomorrow and turn our attention to Kentucky this weekend.” Vaughn also praised Alcock’s performance as well as contributions from other pitchers.

Several players extended personal streaks during the game: Lebron surpassed his previous season total for stolen bases with his seventeenth and eighteenth steals in just eighteen games; Vaughn increased his team-high on-base streak to fourteen games; Fowler reached base for twelve straight games; Neal extended his streak to nine; Lemm pushed his hitting streak to six games; Osterhouse kept his on-base streak alive at seven; Holt and Torres both reached base in six consecutive contests.

Attendance at Sewell-Thomas Stadium was reported at 4,423 fans. Alabama will begin conference play next by traveling to Kentucky for a three-game series starting Friday, March 13.
