The Alabama men’s golf team was selected on May 6 to compete in the 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, marking its 28th overall appearance and its 20th under head coach Jay Seawell. The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon on the Golf Channel.

The Crimson Tide earned the No. 4 seed in the Marana Regional, which will be held at The Gallery Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona from May 18-20. This selection puts Alabama among a field of fourteen teams competing for advancement to the national championships.

The Marana Regional is led by top-seeded Oklahoma State, ranked fifth nationally, followed by eighth-ranked LSU as the No. 2 seed and host school, with eighteenth-ranked Arizona as the No. 3 seed. Rounding out the top five seeds are Alabama and Duke.

Other teams participating in this regional include Clemson, San Diego State, Arkansas, West Virginia, Florida Gulf Coast, Saint Mary’s, Tarleton State, North Dakota State and Iona. Three regional sites have thirteen teams each while three—including Marana—have fourteen teams and five individuals competing for a spot at nationals.

The top five teams from each regional site will advance to the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships at Omni La Costa Golf Resort in Carlsbad, California from May 29-June 3. In addition to team qualifiers, the lowest-scoring individual not on an advancing team will also move forward from each site.

Alabama has previously won five regional championships: Galloway (2009), Athens (2012), Baton Rouge (2013), Auburn (2014) and Norman (2023). Under Seawell’s leadership since his arrival as head coach two decades ago, Alabama has advanced to nationals twelve times and captured back-to-back national titles in 2013 and 2014.
