The No. 17 Alabama men’s golf team finished the opening day of play at the Mossy Oak Collegiate on Apr. 13 in fourth place overall, recording a team score of 4-over par 576 (292-284).
The team’s performance places them among the top competitors heading into Tuesday’s final round. Brycen Jones leads Alabama, tied for 14th individually with a score of 1-under par 143. Nick Gross follows closely, tied for 20th at even par 144.
William Jennings made a notable contribution by achieving his first collegiate hole-in-one on the second round’s par-3, 201-yard eleventh hole. Jennings is currently tied for 42nd with a total score of three-over-par after two rounds.
Other Crimson Tide golfers include Connor Brown, who is tied for 51st with a score of four-over-par, and Jack Mitchell, competing as an individual and ending the day nine-over-par in a tie for ninth overall. Jonathan Griz also contributed to the team’s effort and ended in a tie for twenty-eighth position at one-over-par.
No. 15 Ole Miss leads the field at seventeen-under-par, ahead by nine strokes over host Mississippi State (-8). No.10 Vanderbilt holds third place at five-under-par and is five strokes ahead of both Alabama and South Alabama (+4), rounding out the top five teams.
