The Alabama men’s golf team, ranked No. 17 nationally, secured a share of the championship at the Fallen Oak Collegiate after delivering a strong final round on Monday in Saucier, Mississippi. The Crimson Tide posted a team score of 16-under-par 272 in the third round, tying with No. 10 LSU for first place at 32-under-par 832 over three rounds.

This final round performance matched the fifth-lowest score versus par in Alabama program history and marked the team’s second title out of four tournaments played during the fall season.

Four Alabama golfers finished among the top 20. William Jennings tied for second place at 12-under, Brycen Jones tied for seventh at seven-under, and Jonathan Griz tied for ninth at six-under. Jennings recorded his third top-two finish in four tournaments this fall and led the field in par-5 scoring.

Head coach Jay Seawell commented on the team’s comeback: “It was awesome out there. I think we were 12 strokes back at one point to a really good LSU team and we were just treading water. Then, our guys just lit it up. They never gave in and just played the ball that was in front of them. We started making putts and birdies started dropping which gave us some energy. Coming down the stretch it felt like we were playing in the postseason. You always want to win a tournament outright, but for us to be down as much as we were on the back nine and to come all the way back and tie them is a credit to the guys and the hard work that they’ve put in. It’s a great way to end the fall season.”

Seawell also reflected on how his team has developed over recent months: “This fall has been great to see how this group has come together. They all put in a lot of our work and put in the sweat during the offseason to prepare themselves. They bought into everything we’ve talked about and I loved what I have seen so far. They have been tough, the guys are hungry and they want to win. They know how hard it is to win and know what type of work has to be done in order to reach those goals. We learned a lot about ourselves this fall. We’ve learned we are a very good team that has a chance to reach our goals. But that all starts with getting better in the offseason because that’s what championship teams do.”

Brycen Jones led Alabama’s individual scores on Monday with a six-under-par 66, while Jennings and Griz each shot four-under-par 68s, and Connor Brown finished two-under-par 70—moving up eight spots on Monday’s leaderboard.

Alabama’s result included having three players finish inside the top ten for only the second time this season, echoing their earlier success at another event this fall.

No. 8 Illinois placed third overall, three shots behind Alabama and LSU, while No. 23 Arkansas and No. 4 Ole Miss rounded out the top five teams.
