Five former University of Alabama men’s golf team members are set to compete at the Wyndham Championship, which takes place from July 31 to August 3, 2025, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. The tournament offers a total purse of $8.2 million, with $1.476 million awarded to the winner.
The event is part of the final stretch before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin next week. Television coverage will be provided by Golf Channel throughout all four days and by CBS during the weekend rounds.
The Alabama alumni participating in this year’s Wyndham Championship are Bud Cauley, Lee Hodges, Davis Riley, Nick Dunlap, and Trey Mullinax.
Bud Cauley enters his 18th PGA TOUR event of the season and has made 14 cuts so far. He has recorded six top-25 finishes and four top-10 results this year, including a season-best third place at the Charles Schwab Challenge. This marks his tenth appearance at the Wyndham Championship; his best score was 15-under par 265 in 2012. Cauley is currently ranked No. 51 in the FedEx Cup standings.
Lee Hodges will play his 19th PGA TOUR event of the season and has made ten cuts this year. It is his third time competing in this tournament. Hodges holds a No. 102 ranking in the FedEx Cup standings and is No. 127 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR).
Davis Riley leads all former Alabama golfers with participation in his 24th PGA TOUR event this season. He has achieved one runner-up finish at the PGA Championship, three top-10s, and four top-20s out of thirteen cuts made this year. Riley is ranked No. 62 in FedEx Cup points and No. 70 in OWGR.
Nick Dunlap, named last season’s PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, is entering his second Wyndham Championship after missing the cut last year with a two-under-par performance over two rounds. This will be his 22nd start of the season; he currently sits at No. 91 on OWGR and No. 133 on FedEx Cup standings.
Trey Mullinax is playing his seventeenth event this season with eight made cuts and three top-25 finishes: tied for eighteenth at both The American Express and Zurich Classic of New Orleans, as well as tied for sixteenth at Puerto Rico Open. Mullinax returns for his fourth Wyndham appearance; he finished T36 with a ten-under-par score in 2018.
The tournament begins Thursday morning with staggered tee times for each participant alongside their respective groups.
