Alabama gymnast Jasmine Cawley has been named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Tuesday.

Cawley, who is from Clermont, Florida, achieved a career-high score of 9.925 on beam and added a 9.900 on floor during Alabama’s recent meet. Her performance contributed to Alabama matching its season-high team total of 197.950 and securing its first rivalry win at Neville Arena since 2018.

The freshman shared the beam title with teammate Kylee Kvamme and recorded her third consecutive score of 9.900 or higher on beam, including two such scores at away meets. In Week 7 SEC competition, Cawley posted the highest beam score among freshmen and tied for the top rookie floor score.

This marks Cawley’s first career SEC weekly honor. “Her 9.925 on beam against Auburn marked her third score of 9.900 or better on the apparatus,” the release stated. “Earned a share of the beam title to give her five event titles this season.”

Cawley set personal bests in back-to-back events against Auburn—beam (9.925) and floor (9.900).

Other Alabama gymnasts have also received SEC weekly awards this season: Azaraya Ra-Akbar was named Gymnast of the Week on January 20 and Freshman of the Week on February 17.
