Alabama junior pitcher Jocelyn Briski was named SEC Pitcher of the Week, D1 Softball Pitcher of the Week, and Softball America Star Pitcher of the Week following her performance against Arkansas, according to a March 17 announcement.
Briski’s recognition comes after Alabama secured a top-10 series victory over Arkansas. Her achievements highlight her significant contribution to the team’s success during the weekend.
Briski earned two complete-game wins over the Razorbacks, allowing only two runs across 14 innings. She recorded double-digit strikeouts in both games, including a career-high 14 in Friday’s opener. On Sunday, she threw a career-best 123 pitches and struck out 10 batters. Over the weekend, she gave up just nine hits—seven singles—and two walks.
This is Briski’s second SEC Pitcher of the Week award this season; she previously won on March 2. It also marks Alabama’s sixth overall weekly conference honor this year. Other D1 Softball weekly award winners from Alabama include Vic Moten (Freshman of the Week – Feb. 10) and Kaitlyn Pallozzi (Freshman of the Week – Feb. 24). Moten and Alexis Pupillo have also received Softball America Stars of the Week honors earlier in the season.
Briski’s weekend statistics included a 2-0 record with a 1.00 earned run average over 14 innings pitched, nine hits allowed, two runs (both earned), two walks, and twenty-four strikeouts.
