Alabama junior Jocelyn Briski has been recognized as the SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week after a series of shutout performances. Briski, from Phoenix, Arizona, posted a 3-0 record over 15 innings without allowing a run. She struck out 28 batters, gave up only five hits, and walked two. Her week included a complete-game shutout against St. Thomas and combined shutouts versus UAB and South Florida.
Briski’s performance was highlighted by her career-high 14 strikeouts in the win over St. Thomas. She threw 201 pitches across her appearances this week, with 158 of them being strikes—representing 79 percent accuracy.
“This is Briski’s first time receiving SEC Pitcher of the Week honors,” according to Alabama Athletics. “She previously earned SEC Freshman of the Week accolades twice in 2024.” The team also noted that she is the second Alabama pitcher this season to receive this recognition, following freshman Vic Moten who was honored last week.
Briski’s stats for the weekend included three wins in as many games, all shutouts, with no runs allowed and only two walks issued—the first free passes she has given up this season after starting with a streak of 23 walk-free innings.
She was also named MVP of the T-Mobile Crimson Classic for her efforts.
