Alabama baseball players Carson Ozmer and Justin Lebron have been honored as All-Americans by the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). The announcement was made on Wednesday, recognizing Ozmer as a First Team All-American and Lebron as a Third Team All-American.
This recognition marks the second postseason accolade for both athletes, who were also named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Southeast Region Team earlier this month. Ozmer is noted as the first Crimson Tide player since Connor Prielipp in 2020 to receive First Team All-American honors. For Lebron, this third team selection is his fifth career All-American recognition, adding to his previous Perfect Game USA Third Team honor and three Freshman All-American distinctions from last season.
With these selections, Alabama has produced four NCBWA All-Americans since 2021. This includes Chase Lee’s Third Team selection in 2021 and Gage Miller’s Third Team selection in 2024. Notably, Ozmer is the first Tide player to be chosen as an NCBWA First Team All-American since Kent Matthes in 2009.
Carson Ozmer served as a reliable relief pitcher for Alabama, operating primarily as the team’s closer. He was highlighted as a First Team All-SEC selection and appeared in a team-high 29 games, setting a program record with 17 saves—the most by any Division I player this season. He maintained a 3.29 ERA over his appearances and held opponents to a .193 batting average while striking out 48 batters over 38.1 innings pitched.
Justin Lebron started all of Alabama’s games at shortstop during his sophomore year and earned Second Team All-SEC honors along with his second consecutive SEC All-Defensive Team accolade from conference coaches. As a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, he batted .316 with notable statistics including leading the team in doubles, home runs, total bases, RBI, runs scored, and stolen bases. His performance placed him among the top players in the SEC for several categories.
