CITY OF NORTHPORT: 2020 Northport Municipal Elections

Election

City of Northport recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Northport operates under the Mayor-Council form of government. Under this system, the City Council appoints a City Administrator who acts as the chief administrative officer of the City government. The City Council and Mayor are elected every four (4) years in a nonpartisan election held within the city limits of Northport. The city is divided up into 5 council districts and each district elects one resident of that district to sit as a City Council member. Elections are held in August with possible runoffs held in October of the election year.

It will serve as the 2020 Municipal Election Headquarters for general election information for the 2020 Municipal Elections, as well as information about qualifying and running as a candidate for Mayor or City Council. We will also post full election results for all six races after the election.

The 2020 Municipal Elections will take place on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Polls will be open in each of the five Council Districts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
