Tuscaloosa County School System issued the following announcement on Nov. 15.
It marks American Education Week 2020. Through the generosity of the Tuscaloosa Education Foundation and Jalapeno’s restaurants, one of the ways we are celebrating this week is through our Education Heroes program. Each of our schools had the opportunity to nominate educators and education support professionals who exemplify qualities such as leadership, support of others, and service to students and families – the type of qualities that have meant so much during this challenging year.
Our Education Heroes are being revealed through surprise presentations at their schools, and you’ll see them on electronic billboards across the Tuscaloosa area this week, in celebration of American Education Week and all the outstanding professionals within our schools. All week long, we’ll also share more about our Education Heroes, and why their colleagues selected each of them for this honor.
