Tuscaloosa County School System issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.
The window is now open for TCSS students to select their learning option for third nine weeks. Please read carefully below to see which action you should take.
Current (Second Nine Weeks) On-Campus Learners:
If you choose to remain an On-Campus Learner for third nine weeks, no action is needed. Your school will automatically keep you classified as an On-Campus Learner.
If you choose to become a Remote Learner for third nine weeks, the student and parent/guardian must contact their school administrator no later than Wednesday, December 9, at Noon.
Current (Second Nine Weeks) Remote Learners:
Please visit this page to notify your school of your learning option (On-Campus or Remote) for third nine weeks. All current Remote Learners should respond. The deadline to make this notification is Wednesday, December 9, at Noon. The deadline is several weeks prior to the start of the semester, in order to give our schools the planning time needed to accommodate both On-Campus and Remote Learners.
In the third nine weeks, remote learning will be similar to what students have experienced in second nine weeks, as far as format and online delivery methods. If there are any changes or adjustments remote learners and families should know about, they will recieve information from their school.
In the Expectations & Requirements of TCSS Remote Learners document (link below), remote learners will find more information about the specific uses of Edgenuity and Schoology. They will also find more information about working with their remote learning coach, as well as measures to ensure remote learners do not fall behind in their learning.
Third nine weeks remote learners, and their parents/guardians, should review this document, as well as the document titled Expectations & Requirements of Parents/Guardians of TCSS Remote Learners.
