PARA Will Observe the Juneteenth Holiday on Monday, June 20

Juneteenth: PARA will observe the Juneteenth holiday on Monday, June 20. For a complete list of PARA facility closures, visit tcpara.org. 

The Tuscaloosa Branch of NAACP is hosting multiple events tomorrow, Saturday June 18, to celebrate Juneteenth. Events include a first-annual parade, starting at 10 a.m., with Deontay Wilder serving as the Grand Marshal. The parade route will begin at Westlawn Middle School and end at PARA's McDonald Hughes Community Center. Immediately following the parade, a Community Cookout will kick off at PARA's Palmore Park until 3 p.m. An additional Juneteenth celebration will take place at Palmore Park from noon until 6 p.m. This event will feature live music from Nathaniel Kimble, Caroline shines and impulse, Rapper Sagathe9th, as well as D.J. Tank Sinatra and D.J. Melo.
