Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority: Bark in the Park

PARA would like to thank the Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors for their unwavering support and dedication to the Will May Dog Park. Today, PARA was presented with a $22,784.00 check from the 2022 Tuscaloosa Bark In The Park proceeds. PARA is looking forward to putting these funds to good use! Upcoming maintenance items for the Park include sodding, landscape restoration, and general repairs.

Additionally, PARA recently conducted a survey regarding potential improvements at the Will May Dog Park in which over 250 responses were received. The results indicated that a large number of users were coming in the afternoon and evening hours. Additional lighting was one of the most popular requests! Participants said that more lighting would be extremely beneficial during the fall and winter months, especially after the time changes. PARA is proud to announce that our plan is to utilize solar panels to provide additional lighting for Park visitors. This energy source is the most economical and environmentally friendly, and has been efficiently and successfully used at other PARA facilities. We appreciate all of the feedback we received and our main goal is to continue to improve the Park without impeding the space available for dogs to play.

Thank you again to the Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors for hosting such a fun annual event in support of our furiends around the community! We are already looking forward to next year’s Bark in the Park event!
