Dr. Cordell Wynn | City of Tuscaloosa – Government

Our first #BlackHistoryMonth highlight features Dr. Cordell Wynn. Passionate about equity in education, Dr. Wynn moved to Tuscaloosa to assume the presidency of Stillman College in 1982.  Not only did the historically Black college thrive under Dr. Wynn's leadership, but he also became an influential community leader and advocate for the Tuscaloosa area.

Fun fact: In 2007, Mayor Walt Maddox declared February 3 Dr. Cordell Wynn Day in Tuscaloosa. Read more about Dr. Wynn here: bit.ly/3l0jTdA, and stay tuned for more highlights throughout the month!
