June 17 -23 is National Waste and Recycling Workers Week. The City of Tuscaloosa would like to invite residents to join us in recognizing and celebrating the hard-working staff members on our waste and recycling crews.

There are many ways to show your appreciation! Here are some simple and easy ways to show waste and recycling workers you care:

  • Leave out water or snacks. It gets hot during the day, and workers would be grateful for a little “pick-me-up!”
  • Print out and ask a child in your life to color one of the coloring sheets below to say thank you to our workers. After coloring, tape the page to a garbage or recycling bin and send us a picture!

Write a thank you note and leave it on your garbage bin or write it in sidewalk chalk next to the bins (see examples below)

The city would love to see how you celebrate this national week. If you do anything special for Waste and Recycle workers this week, post a photo to any social media accounts and tag us - @tuscaloosacity!
